Getting Ready Before You Begin
Frameleaf makes bringing in your data feel like preparing a home cooked meal with ingredients you already have on hand. Gather the files you want to import such as spreadsheets or text documents from your computer. Make sure they are saved in an easy to reach folder so the process flows without interruption.
Step 1: Open Frameleaf on Your Computer
Start by clicking the Frameleaf icon on your desktop or in the applications folder. The clean interface appears right away with plenty of open space to work. Take a moment to notice the main menu at the top where you will find the import option waiting for you.
Step 2: Locate the Import Option
Move your cursor to the top menu and select the section labeled data tools. A small panel slides out gently showing the import choice. Click it to open a new window that guides you through selecting what to bring in.
Step 3: Choose Your Files
In the import window browse your folders until you find the data files you prepared earlier. Highlight them one by one or select a whole group at once. Frameleaf accepts common formats so most files transfer without extra work.
- Look for spreadsheet files ending in common extensions
- Check text documents for any notes you want included
- Confirm each selection appears in the preview list below
Step 4: Map Your Information Fields
Once files are chosen the app shows a simple mapping view. Match each column or section from your original file to the matching spots in Frameleaf. This step ensures everything lands in the right place like placing vegetables in their proper spots in a garden bed.
Use the dropdown menus to connect names addresses or other details correctly. If something looks off you can adjust it right then without starting over.
Step 5: Review Before Finishing
The app gives you a clear preview of how your data will appear after import. Scroll through the list and check for accuracy. Any small changes can be made here using the edit buttons that appear on hover.
Step 6: Complete the Import
When everything looks good click the main import button at the bottom of the window. A progress bar moves across the screen showing the transfer happening smoothly. Once finished a confirmation message appears with the total number of items added.
Your data now sits inside Frameleaf ready for you to explore and use. Open the main view to see your information arranged neatly in rows and columns.
Step 7: Check and Organize Further
After import take time to sort the new entries using the built in filters. Add any missing tags or notes that make the data even more useful to you. This final touch keeps everything fresh and easy to find later on.
If you run into any questions the help area inside the app offers quick tips written in plain language. Repeat these steps anytime you have new information to add to your collection.
